Rockchop Breaker Capsules

Rockchop Breaker Capsules and the safe demolition of Reinforced Concrete and Mass Rock

Rockchop provides an ideal option for the safe removal of mass rock and awkwardly situated reinforced concrete in confined areas. Rockchop is a deflegrating agent which, when ignited, instantaneously produces high temperature gas. The instantaneous expansion of the gases forces the rock or concrete to break.

Method

Holes are drilled, at measured intervals into the structure/rock mass to be broken. A Rockchop Capsule is placed into the holes. The hole are then stemmed and the capsule remotely ignited. The resulting expansion of gas, whilst having the force to break the rock or concrete, will not produce “Fly Rock” or the loud explosions or shockwaves normally associated with high explosives.

Gnat UK, in conjunction with ICI Nobel Enterprises, is at the forefront of this developing technology, having accumulated considerable experience in its use and application across numerous specialist projects.
